Replacing missing teeth is not only a cosmetic improvement but also leads to better chewing efficiency. Having all of your teeth allows you to properly chew your food which supports digestion and decreases the potential hazard of choking.

Several options are available for replacing missing teeth, including fixed and removable replacements.

Fixed Tooth Replacement Options

This would include tooth supported bridges or Implant Supported crowns, bridges or appliances. Tooth Supported Bridges permanently anchor to solid teeth on either side of the missing tooth or teeth. Implant Supported Bridges anchor to surgically placed implants. Implants are so sturdy that even if all the teeth were missing, Bridges or Denture could be anchored to the implant(s) to give the person permanent, non-removable teeth. This is referred to as “All On 4” meaning a full complement of teeth per jaw can be replace by anchoring to only four Implants.

Removable Tooth Replacement Options

This would include traditional complete or partial dentures.
Complete dentures are used when a person has no teeth or the teeth they do have need to be removed. Partial Dentures are used when there are some missing teeth and some good remaining teeth. Both of these options allow the person to remove the denture at will, which aids proper cleaning.
