Here at Davidson Family Dental, we are proud to offer laser dentistry for our patients.

Laser dentistry is not very common, though there are many benefits to using laser during procedures. Wounds from the surgery heal much faster because there is less damage to the surrounding tissue. Lasers minimize bleeding and post-surgical bacterial infections. Often, anesthesia and sutures are not needed after procedures when a laser is used.

Lasers can be used for many different dental procedures. It is an efficient way to find cavities. It can be used to fill them without the need for anesthesia. It can be used to remold gums that grow up and over a patient’s teeth. Many dentists use a laser for dental surgery, like cutting out extra tissue in the mouth, to remove tumors, and much more.

Laser dentistry makes procedures much smoother, more efficient, and less painful for patients. People who are afraid or very anxious at the dentist should find dentists who offer laser dentistry. They will be surprised at how painless it can be to come to the dentist.

Lip plumping

LipLase is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment. It is performed from inside and outside of the lips on the vermillion border. It is a new quick and easy way to enhance the size and shape of your lips without injections and potential bruising seen with traditional lip fillers.

After the age of 30 we lose up to 1% of our collagen production each year. To combat this, LipLase uses our Fotona Laser to heat the deep layer of the skin and stimulate your collagen production. Not only do we treat the lips and surrounding skin, but we also target the inner lips to stimulate the collagen from both sides. Targeting every aspect of your lips ensures we can create fuller, smoother and tighter lips to provide a more youthful look.
LipLase treatment is quick and comfortable. Patients do not usually require any numbing; the great news is there is no downtime. You are good to go, immediately after your treatment session. Go to work or just enjoy your day.

Snoring Treatment

Do you often feel tired or irritable during the day even though you got a full night of sleep? Is your sleep partner ready to kick you to the curb? Do you inadvertently attract grizzly bear hunters when you fall asleep?

If you answered YES to any of these questions you may suffer from snoring and/or sleep apnea. In fact 67% of people snore. 80% of snorers have some type of sleep apnea. Both of these conditions are classified as sleep disordered breathing. Sleep disordered breathing occurs when air passes between the tongue and soft palate, causing vibration of the soft palate. A snoring sound may also be produced from the nose during inhalation. Conditions that lead to sleep disordered breathing included a narrowed or deficient airway, fat built up or inflamed tissues, obstruction in the nasal passageway or a mal-positioned jaw caused by back sleeping or tension in the muscles.

At Davidson Family Dental we are well versed in the many causes of sleep disordered breathing and all current treatment remedies. We start off with a questionnaire to discover the nature and severity of the problem. This often is followed by a referral for a sleep study. Once we confirm the cause and severity of the problem we can offer treatment solutions. These can range from various OTC (over the counter) to custom made mandibular advancement devices (MAD). Noninvasive Laser Treatment of soft palate to improve the airway, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) or any combination of these can be utilized to alleviate your sleeping issues.
